So Childcare was given some silk flowers and i made them a dramatic play boxes we will use outside at one of the centers .

I cut the stems off to a short stem and used extra pea pots we made .So they can play in their own flower beds .

Yarn , Yak ,and Yellow

Then we did some yarn weaving

There so many fun things to do with Y yarn

Yarn painting , yarn flowers ,yarn shapes , weaving like we did as i didn't have a lot of time, sewing with yarn felt or canvas .

Above Ground and Below Ground

So today we talked about Vegetable like carrots and potatoes that grow below ground and others like tomatoes , corn and green beans above ground .

First we made a list of foods we know above and below

Then took a pc of paper folded in 1/2

Color one 1/2 brown

Added or fruit and veggies

Planting

Theses Day the children and I do container gardening . They will weed , water and care for them plus Eat them . Today we started . We got all the pots cleaned out . One little boy would of spent all day hoeing the pot HE LOVED THAT JOB!

We planted our pinapple top (it will not grow a pinaqpple )

We planted our Green beans from widow bags

We planted Sunflower seeds .

We still need to plant tomato plants and maybe another veggie I'll let my girls choose

And some bulbs i was going to try this year with them ?

The Carrot seed

So the Carrot seed is our book for the week . Each week I pick a book and read it all week , usually along with other books at a different circle time but one book is the same each day . I have heard over and over it teaches better literacy . So i decide to give it a try . Been doing it for around 6 weeks .

We are learning how important the roots are of a plant even though they can not usually see them . Learning new vocab words . and how the water travels up the roots to the stem , leaves and flower .

Roots

So last week was seeds ,this weeks is roots . We planted our Bean seeds last week and we will check for any roots . Yep roots !Last year we grow a pineapple top and watched the roots in a glass jar we been watching all winter . (we can now plant in a pot outside )

We used a template from dltk.com for our root picture .

Also the bean seeds will be moved pots outside .
