St. patricks Day

Today we worked on math graph with lucky charms and also match number to number of items and read 10 lucky leprechauns . Yesterday was more fine motor and we drew a leprechaun (face ) and used some cutting skills . Sorry no pictures

So i thought i would update you on our Trap we still have not got the Leprechaun . He added foot prints on the trap when he took the apple yesterday . Add used the bathroom . (Green toilet) . Today we we leave him lucky charm maybe they will be lucky .

St Patty Days

Today first we start with green milk,green applesause and rainbow toast that darn Leprechaun.

The milk they thought was so magical . I add a few drop of green food color in cup and when i pour the white milk in it changes color . wow they loved it and of course blame it on the nauty Leprechaun.

Also see he chased all the snacks out of Brooklyn center and left a pot of gold candy coins. Maybe next year we will catch him .. HEHE

I made green cookies for snack and for lunch We are making potato soup .

We had a shamrock hunt ,counted lucky charms and made hats .

Lost Wednesday !

lost Wednesday . So today we did some counting match up shamrocks . Then they really don't understand what a Leprechaun looks like so over at http://www.makinglearningfun.com/

We did finish drawing the leprechaun ,some dot to dots again counting ,Then we took from making learning fun a template of leprechaun and decorated and then cut strips out for his beard. And rolled it to make a curly beard. Just wrap a pen around the cut strips .

We also read Ll four leprechaun and did a good luck search for the letters good luck !

A little of that and this today .

So no Leprechaun in our trap yet but he did take the fruit rainbow roll up . Now they put a snack in there . Maybe he will want to chance the snack out of Brooklyn center ,mn as he did in Ireland .What you think ?

Flag of Ireland

So first we started with a picture of the flag and look it up in one of our book . Then we looked at the globe where Ireland is . Then we had Ireland flag snack . I took a cracker added some cream cheese for the middle white , then slice carrots for the orange and a sliced grape on the green side. Then we color The Ireland flag . some got where color should go other explored. I got my flag pattern on google images when i was printing a picture of the flag.

Hehe don't laugh at my globe it has been fallen so many times and have to put together most days , So before we looked at Ireland i promise we had it together correct .

Leprechaun Trap

So today we made a Leprechaun Trap . I took A pop box . It has a natural trap . Then they just decorated some strips of paper and we piece them all together .

Then we went over What would attract the Leprechaun . Cookies , golden cookies , lucky charms , mouse trap but they where worried it kill him. Rainbow fruit roll up was the winner for today . They put string and rubber band to load the trap . We will see if we are the first to see a Leprechaun.

Have you Seen something Green ?

So first i started with reading "LETS FIND OUT" by scholastic Then we counted the green items . Circle the correct number . Then they drew a picture of something green . Then i gave them a Green piece of paper and had them find green items to add to the paper to make a green sheet .. Sick of green yet . Only the start with St Patty's this week . I cut the paper of pictures down as my groups pretty young and some just learning how to cut .

I printed two in color and two in black and white. Then laminated them .

This are good for counting , matching , sorting number order . One set for number order and matching . Next set for counting out green counting (pompom balls) .

Friday Shamrocks Rock ! bulletin board

So we made large shamrocks today .
mosaic collection of tissue paper and over laid with a cut out of shamrock .

I like this project children two years to 11 year old did it and all come looking great. It does not matter your skill lever .

Tissue paper very of color

cut tissue paper in strips and cut into 1 inch to 2 inch pieces

glue /water mixture . 1/2 water to glue what i use .

Then when dry we put on wall for our new bulletin board .

I have them paint a layer of glue and then lay a piece of tissue paper down then another layer glue on top .
