Letter Thursday X Xylophone

We practiced Writing X
Ops i missed picture but you seen it for the last 23 letters .

Looked at pictures of Xylophone Asked if anyone has one at home.
Color a picture of a Xylophone if they wanted to

The kids had fun touch each class with a spoon and hear the different sounds .

X is a harder letter to make a word list so we pulled out Scholastic children's Ddictionary and First reader My Picture Dictionary .

Letter Of Week Tt Teddy Bear Tea Party

Teddy bear , tea ,tee , toast ,tomatoes ,tire ,time, Tuesday , Thursday ,too,two .toe toad so many Tt words but we focus on Tea with Toast and tomatoes today with our Teddy bears . We had a teddy bear party.

We all brought our teddy bear for our Tea , toast and tomatoes party .

Thursday letter Pp

Prefect P for puzzles and color of the month purple . Of course many other other words .So we did our word list . Including the P dinosaurs. Pteranodon small as a turkey body but wings as big as a small plane. (there are many but we only be talking about this one this week along with our other dinosaur. )

We did our practice writing in purple. Then we took are P templates decorated them and put them on purple paper . Then we cut them into pieces and then we have a puzzle . P for puzzle .One girls would not cut her pretty work she said into puzzle pieces. that was ok . We also did a few dinosaur puzzles together a nice floor one and some more detail ones. Then i put them out for free play to explore . I have some nice 3D ones also we will work on later . Floor puzzle we will do at circle time . I have a nice collection dinosaurs puzzles .

Thursday letter of week Oo

So we made our Oo list ,owl, oh ,our, on and so on! We practice writing Oo then we took our o template and glue and decorated with O's-cereal . I think i make some O's with lunch just for fun . I had them cut their O template out like we cut our hearts out in 1/2 first to make a circle .
We then painted O's with a tp rolls in purple for our color of the month .
We also placed game operation and connect four (o's pcs ) out for free play.

Today would be also fun to do dubbers for a O template or milk lids are O's to paint with .

Thursday letter This week N

So Nn first we made our list of all the N words , we traced a N page .Then we decorated an N with newspaper , News paper for N . While they where gluing the news paper to the N i had them look for N's and if they found one they got a treat .(a kiss chocolate kiss that is ) A little motivation to look at the letters on the n. Then i cut-up letter N and used as a puzzle for them to put together . I cut up five N in different colors so i knew what pc's go to what N . I also give them a template to place the pc's on . Now i will store in my letter file in a page sleeve together for next year or another day .

I also have new paper in the book area this week as Sunday the news paper had pictures and article's of penguins and the Arctic . They been love looking at the news paper all week .
